Nilfisk, Viper, Truvox and I-Mop Scrubber Dryers compared

Each of the brands CFM supplies fits a different need rather than being simply better or worse than the others. Nilfisk is the core professional range, Viper offers strong value, Truvox brings British-built machines well suited to textured and safety flooring, and the I-MOP provides exceptional manoeuvrability. The correct choice depends on how hard the machine will work, the flooring it will clean and the budget available.

Nilfisk

Nilfisk is the core professional range and the brand CFM is an approved supplier for. The range is the broadest of the four, spanning the compact SC100 and SC250, the widely used SC351 and SC530 pedestrian machines, the SC800 large pedestrian, and ride-on machines from the BR652 up to the SC5000 and SC6000 for the largest facilities.

Every Nilfisk machine benefits from Nilfisk’s engineering, genuine parts and service network. As an approved Nilfisk supplier, we have direct access to technical support and product expertise that general resellers cannot match. For a facility that expects a machine to work hard for many years and to be properly supported throughout, Nilfisk is the natural starting point.

Viper

Viper is part of the Nilfisk group and offers strong value for less demanding applications. The range covers the compact AS4335C, the AS4325B, AS5160 and traction-driven AS5160T pedestrian machines, the larger AS6690T and AS7910 TO, and ride-on machines including the AS530R micro ride-on, AS710R and AS1050R.

Viper suits facilities where the machine will be used regularly but not punishingly, and where budget is a genuine consideration. The AS530R deserves particular mention, because it fills the awkward gap between a large pedestrian machine and a full-size ride-on that many medium facilities fall into.

Truvox

flooring. Many standard scrubber dryers are available in a cylindrical configuration, and the Multiwash Pro range is a good example. A cylindrical configuration can also offer a sweeping action, lifting loose debris while the machine scrubs, which suits entrance areas and floors that would otherwise need a separate sweeping pass.

A steam variant is also available where enhanced hygiene is required. For safety flooring in particular, where the slip-resistant texture holds dirt that a flat pad cannot reach, a cylindrical brush configuration is often the more effective approach.

I-MOP

The I-MOP XL and XXL are articulated scrubber dryers that handle much like a large mop but clean like a machine. They are exceptionally manoeuvrable, reach close to edges and into tight spaces, and fold for easy storage and transport.

The I-MOP suits hospitality, healthcare and mixed retail environments where the floor is broken up by furniture, fittings and people, and where a conventional deck would struggle to reach a meaningful proportion of the area. Alongside the Viper AS7910 TO, it also represents the oscillating approach, applying an even but aggressive action that suits deep cleaning and can reduce chemical use.

How do the four compare at a glance?

What if none of these are the correct machine?

CFM North East holds more than 30 scrubber dryers in stock across pedestrian and ride-on formats. We generally work with four tried and trusted suppliers and brands, although we are able to source and supply virtually any recognised cleaning machine should you require it.

This matters where a facility has standardised on a particular manufacturer, where an existing fleet needs matching, or where an unusual application calls for something outside the mainstream ranges. The brand is a means to an end rather than the decision itself.

How should you choose between them?

Start with the application rather than the badge. The flooring type and configuration, the size and layout of the area, the intensity of use and the budget will usually narrow the field to two or three machines, at which point the brand becomes a secondary consideration.

The most reliable way to settle it is to try the machines. We are generally able to bring machines to your facility so you can try them on your own flooring and satisfy yourself which is the correct choice before purchasing, leasing or hiring.

Compare the machines on your own floor

Specification sheets only tell part of the story. We offer no obligation, on-site demonstrations of most machines we sell, covering the distinct benefits and the pitfalls of each option.
